Proficiency Based Licensure Program

Proficiency Based Licensure (PBL) is an educator preparation program approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for individuals interested in obtaining Wisconsin initial teacher certification. The PBL program also provides an efficient and effective means for currently licensed teachers to expand their certification.

The mission of the PBL program is to fill teaching vacancies by offering an approved personalized route to teacher certification for qualified individuals. The program provides teacher candidates with the resources and support necessary to achieve proficiency in the InTasc Learning Model Core Teaching Standards and Learning Progressions for Teachers. 

The PBL program develops highly qualified teachers and helps them attain their Initial Educators certification.
