What is included in the program fees?
The Proficiency-Based Licensure Program fees cover application processing, the initial assessment process, Learn and Share sessions, CESA #1 professional development activities, and Instructional Advisor services. Additionally, candidates are responsible for license application and required exam fees. The PBL Program at CESA #1 is currently the best return on investment for alternative certification candidates based on a review of area program fees. While working towards proficiency and licensure you are officially employed as the teacher of record in a school or school district.
The teacher candidate is responsible for all fees associated with this program.
Financial Assistance Resources:
- As CESA #1 is not a college or university, financial aide through FAFSA is not available
- Businesses such as Educator's Credit Union (personal loan opportunities)
The $100 non-refundable application fee is due upon registration. All other fees are due upon acceptance into the program after you secure an approved teaching position in the area in which you are seeking licensure.
Candidates who maintain active involvement and timeline requirements often complete proficiency requirements in two to three semesters. Candidates who do not meet proficiency or meet timelines may require an additional semester or school year to complete. Additional semester fees may be applied and required for participation beyond two school semesters.
